Mount selection & purchasing guide
How to Select Rubber Vibration Mounts
Match the connections at both ends, check the available installation space and describe the operating conditions. Use this guide to prepare a VE, VV, DD, DE or VD inquiry.
These codes identify mounting interfaces. They do not specify allowable load, rubber hardness or isolation performance.
Request a mount selection review1. Match both mounting interfaces
A male stud is an external threaded connection; a female thread is an internal threaded connection. Check the equipment side and support side against the drawing or existing sample.
| Model | End 1 | End 2 | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| VE | Male stud | Plain rubber face | Inquire about VE |
| VV | Male stud | Male stud | Inquire about VV |
| DD | Female thread | Female thread | Inquire about DD |
| DE | Female thread | Plain rubber face | Inquire about DE |
| VD | Male stud | Female thread | Inquire about VD |
A plain rubber face has no threaded connection at that end. Confirm how it contacts the mating surface. The interface code alone does not determine whether a mount is suitable for your installation.

- Rubber body: diameter or footprint, rubber height and required overall height.
- Male studs: thread size, pitch and exposed stud length at each end.
- Female threads: thread size, pitch and usable thread depth at each end.
- Installation space: mating parts, clearance, mounting-hole position and any dimensional tolerances.
Label the rubber height and overall height separately. Include a dimensioned drawing or clear photographs of both ends. Do not infer thread pitch or usable depth from a photograph alone.
For a replacement mount, send the existing part specification or a sample when available. Matching appearance alone does not confirm equivalent performance.
3. Describe the load and operating conditions
- Equipment type and total weight.
- Number and position of mounts, installation orientation and expected load at each mount.
- Equipment speed or excitation frequency, if available, and the vibration or movement concern.
- Operating temperature and exposure to oil, weather or chemicals.
- Any existing material, Shore A hardness or performance specification.
The equipment weight may not be distributed equally between mounts. Describe the support arrangement and load direction so the application can be reviewed.
Material and hardness are confirmed for the order. Allowable load and vibration-isolation performance require application-specific review; this guide does not provide numerical load ratings or isolation guarantees.
4. Send a complete quotation request
Include the preferred interface code, drawing or sample, rubber dimensions, thread details, installation conditions, trial and production quantities, and delivery destination.
Sample arrangements, minimum order quantity, lead time and packing requirements are confirmed for the specific request.
Include measurement units with every dimension. If a specification is unknown, mark it as unknown and share the application, photographs and any available drawing or sample.
Send your mount requirementsCommon selection questions
Can I choose a mount by the interface code alone?
No. The code describes the connections. Dimensions, rubber properties, load distribution and operating conditions must also be reviewed.
What if I do not know the thread specification?
Send an existing drawing, part specification or sample. Provide clear photos of the mating parts to help identify what needs to be checked; confirm the actual thread size and pitch before production.
Would an unthreaded pad be more appropriate?
If the installation calls for a pad between contact surfaces, compare the pad selection guide. Connection and application requirements still need review.
